From Why Personalized Learning Should be the Goal of Every Classroom

Through this week’s learning, I have learned how to combine artificial intelligence with personalized learning.

I think one of the most important things that AI can bring to learning is that all students don’t have to receive the same knowledge. They will have their own unique way of learning. The application of artificial intelligence technology in education can better cultivate students’ innovative thinking, systematically evaluate and diagnose students’ learning situation, timely detect students’ learning progress, analyze the important and difficult points in students’ learning, and help students solve their learning problems. The second point is that compared with teachers, the AI system will not exert pressure on students during the learning process. Therefore, students are more willing to ask questions in this process, which can effectively strengthen the direct communication between students and the textbook knowledge, thus improving the learning efficiency.

The artificial intelligence technology itself, students can get interactive and personalized teaching technology foundation. In artificial intelligence personalized learning, students’ learning progress can be mastered and their actual learning situation can be analyzed, so as to design learning plans for them and make their learning more personalized. By fully analyzing students’ interests and hobbies, corresponding learning methods can be set for students.

In Sweller’s view, due to the limited capacity of working memory, teaching methods should avoid additional activities (Home).Different learning materials can bring different cognitive loads. The same learning material presented in different ways will have different effects on cognitive load. For example, if the spatial relationship is presented with graphics, it will bring less cognitive load to students than the textual one, because the latter way of presentation will force students to construct a spatial relationship in their mind.

It is easy to see that students need different learning styles to help them avoid cognitive overload. At this time, we need to understand students and create different learning methods for them (Downing). However, the teacher’s limited time cannot guarantee to help every student. Students can not fully understand themselves, and they can not effectively obtain appropriate learning content and learning strategy guidance. Artificial intelligence-assisted personalized education can provide a better solution.

Artificial intelligence education is the product of The Times, is produced under the role of The Times, based on this to improve the quality of teaching is necessary. The way of artificial intelligence education can make students acquire more vivid knowledge, so that they can learn more vivid and interesting content, enhance students’ interest and initiative in learning, make them absorb knowledge faster and better, and effectively improve the teaching efficiency. However, I don’t think AI education is complete yet.In other words, I think teachers also play an irreplaceable role.Only by mastering sufficient knowledge and laying a solid foundation, can students learn relevant content better. And students can’t master relevant knowledge without the accumulation of various information.Artificial intelligence can only provide a suitable way, but learning itself still requires the participation of students themselves and their basic knowledge. In the early stage of learning new knowledge, teachers should give full play to the guiding role of students.Ai may not have good advice on this point, because each student is relatively new to new knowledge.Secondly, in addition to the guidance provided by teachers in the early stage of learning new knowledge, students themselves also need some exercises to strengthen their memory.Artificial intelligence can simulate the thinking process of education experts, so as to better teach students and improve the efficiency and quality of students’ learning. However, students also need a certain amount of practice to strengthen the memory of these knowledge.

I think the AI approach will ultimately lead to better learning.I didn’t use a lot of artificial intelligence to help me learn better. However, when I learned the algorithm in my major course, I used the method of reading in advance and code experiment of the algorithm I learned. Most importantly, I didn’t just follow the course, I just understood or proved the algorithm.I found that I could only understand these algorithms abstractly in class, and the teacher did not let me contact with real problems. I decided to try to solve some algorithm problems on the leetcode website. Let me visualize the algorithm problem. When students solve real problems, their learning improves (2019).In my algorithm class, I found that most of the knowledge learned in the class was the proof of the algorithm. A lot of times, it takes me time to understand. So, I decided to know the content of the class before class. After class, I found that I understood the algorithm, but I could not explain some algorithms effectively to my classmates. So, I thought that trying to solve some algorithm problems would help me understand the algorithm better. After this process, I felt that I had a deeper understanding of the algorithm, because I could describe the algorithm well among the students. While I don’t plan my learning methods with AI, I still use personalized learning methods for myself.

I believe AI will be more frequently associated with education. Although there are still some problems, but with the development of The Times, these problems will be solved, and then give full play to the role of artificial intelligence technology in education, to promote the further development of education.
